How we protect your data and respect your privacy
Last updated: March 9, 2026
ChurchWiseAI LTD (“we,” “our,” or “ChurchWiseAI”), an Ontario, Canada corporation, operates SermonWise AI (“the Service”) at sermonwise.ai. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Service.
By creating an account or using SermonWise AI, you consent to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
When generating sermons, you select a theological lens (e.g., Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, Reformed, Pentecostal, Orthodox, or one of 11 other traditions). This constitutes religious belief data, which is considered sensitive personal information under the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and similar privacy laws.
We collect this data solely to provide you with tradition-aligned sermon outlines. Your theological preference is stored with your account and associated sermons. By using the Service and selecting a theological lens, you provide express consent for us to collect and process this religious preference data for the purpose of sermon generation.
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials. We receive from Stripe: transaction confirmation, subscription status, and billing cycle dates.
We use essential cookies for authentication and session management. We use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. We do not sell cookie data to third parties or use it for cross-site advertising.
We do not sell your personal data. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit consent.
SermonWise AI uses third-party AI providers (OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate sermon content. Here is how your data is handled in this process:
Your sermon generation prompts (scripture, theme, style, target audience) and your selected theological tradition are sent to OpenAI and/or Anthropic APIs to generate sermon content.
Under our agreements with OpenAI and Anthropic, input and output data may be retained by these providers for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and safety purposes, after which it is deleted. Neither provider uses your data to train their general models under our API terms.
We do not permit your sermon content to be used to train third-party AI models. Your sermons are not contributed to any training datasets.
Generated sermons and derivative content are your intellectual property. See our Terms of Service for details.
